When I was but a wee pain in the ass, I remember that the dearest wish in the whole world was a sign where the driveway and the dirt road met, next to the huge (when you’re little everything is huge) rock.
The phrase on the dreamed of sign… Thistle Dew – Hasta (this will do, it has to) with a thistle picture on it.
We never got the sign and now the whole back home is over gown and falling into disrepair.
Decades have passed. I’ve passed the half century mark.
I’ve traveled far and now have settled in.
And my thistle dew is my little corner of the world… My little thicket.
And here I am, sharing my hedge row… My adventure… My lessons learned…
You’re welcome to walk a while with me.
Pick some fresh mint from the mint patch for your tea.
Pull up a rocker and listen to the world go by.
The stories we will share, the chats we will have.
Check your ankles for chiggers and ticks and enjoy the breeze while it lasts.
