So, we had a white Christmas. Not just “white’ but WOW we had 15 inches of snow white.
There is something magical about Christmas snow… and while we have had a white Christmas off and on we have not had that degree of snow in quite some time. Certainly not when I had my head in the game and was actually thinking about stuff… It’s been a bad year.
So, Saturday I decided to make snow water out of some of the Christmas snow. In a big giant DUH moment I started just filling my half gallon jar with snow. Which was taking FOREVER to melt and accumulate. In an Ah-hah moment, I went and dug out decent sized pan and my 5 gallon dog water trough and started melting and melting enough to at least fill 2 half gallon canning jars. And… I got that much and more. Between Saturday and yesterday I got probably 2 gallons of Christmas snow snow water that I can sit out in the back yard under the full moon tomorrow night.
It’s kind of neat when I get my shit together and make things happen in a good way.
Yesterday there was a foot of snow on my picnic table out back and the grass was COVERED everywhere with about as much.
It warmed up yesterday.
It stayed warm over night
I woke up this morning to a giant mud pit in the back yard, snow only left where it was piled from snow blowing, plowing and shoveling and not enough clean snow to fill a coffee cup.
My year may have sucked massively large
My holiday season may have left very very much to be desired.
But I got my snow water from the Christmas snow.
