Granny Fricket's Thicket

July has been a long year this year. I am physically and emotionally exhausted. I’m ready to just… not… for at least a couple days. BUT… today is not that day. That is not currently an option… so… onward and upward.

The floor… This picture is what the floor looked like when I crashed and burned last night about 10. Making progress. I’m thinking shiny dirt might have been a less than optimal choice… flat dirt might have been better… ah well, 2020 hindsight.

I’m thrilled to death that I have enough paint to not only “dirt” the front room but to cover the stairs as well. THOSE are not going to be stone walls… those (I am DETERMINED) will be the weird bookshelf staircases you see in all the memes…

But THIS is all about the floor.

Elves were busy in the overnight and we are going to have what we have to have pained painted today. There will be some auxiliary furniture moving that will have to happen later but later is later and this is now. THIS is where we are right now. Not stones but I did see that the pond that I outlined in white pudding paint before we started is actually going to be good… I can see the outlines through the brown so I won’t have to redraw it I can just repaint over what I painted (turtles and all but this time turtles in green acrylics…)
