It is the morning of New Year’s Eve. I sit with my ginger cinnamon coffee, listening to “Hagitude” by Sharon Blackie, thinking about the passing of time… the passing of the year… goals (no, not resolutions, goals) for my new year. Thinking about making Kielbasa and sauerkraut tomorrow for luck… maybe a bit of cornbread and black-eyed-peas because… Texas is still a bit a part of us…
I am looking forward to 2024 to be a blessed new year.
In with the new, out with the old
At midnight on New Year’s Eve, open your front door and your back door. Blow out the old. Blow in the new. Blow out the false. Blow in the true. So Mote It Be.
Smudging closed the passing year
Into this smoke, I release all energies that did not serve me. Into this smoke, I release all negativity that surround me. Into this smoke, I release all fears that limited me through the past year. Into this new year, I walk with light in my heart and hope for all better things to come. So Mote It Be.
Sweeping out the old and in the new
Sweep, Sweep, Sweep away, passing year you can not stay.
Bless and protect my front door, negativity pass no more.
Abundance alone shall enter my door. Sacred broom, sweep my floor.
As this year changes date, abundance and prosperity be my fate.
Sweep, sweep, sweep this ground. Past year negativity be bound.
Sweep, sweep, sweep this floor, new year’s abundance flow through this door.
So Mote It Be
New Year Blessing
I release, today, all of the things from the past year that has caused me negative attachment.
I prepare for the new year and welcome the new changes, the new lessons and the new adventures to come.
I welcome all new opportunities that will come to help me grow physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually. So Mote It Be
A Blessing for the New Year
