Baby Witch
A “baby witch” (and I really hate that term, I guess as much because there are not corresponding toddler witches and child witches…. but I guess Sabrina was a teenage witch so there is that) is nothing more than a witch who is new to their paths and just setting out learning.
I’ve seen places that suggest ‘baby witches’ shouldn’t do anything but read and learn and maybe do a little protection magic. To an extent, I agree. If you are very new and learning you don’t want to jump into a bunch of spells. I know, I know… many who google witchcraft are wanting nothing more than a love spell to make xyz or abc fall in love with them or a spell to make pdq break up with lmnop. If that’s why you’re here, this is the absolute wrong place for you.
But at the same time, I don’t think limiting yourself to just protection is necessary, either. I mean… one of the first things I learned is still a part of my morning ritual. When I pour my coffee (or tea… or coco if the mood takes me) any time during the day, I put into my coffee my intentions (scootch on down to intentions if you need to but come right back). First thing in the morning, even if I’m drinking my coffee black or my tea with nothing in it, I stir my cup clockwise (deosil) to remind myself and the cosmos that I intend for the day to be a good day. If I’m having a particularly hard day at work, I stir my coffee counterclockwise (widdershins) to rid myself of negativity or to shake the bad feelings.
Also, to set my intentions for the day… When I take my morning bath/shower/whatever… I wash my face in a counterclockwise motion to rid myself of any negativity and to wash away bad thoughts (do it with intention… intend for the negative to be washed away). When I, later, put on moisturizer (I’m a crone, and proud of it… I don’t really care about the wrinkles, but moisturizer makes me feel good) I put it on clockwise, to work good thoughts into my day.
I honestly don’t think that there is anything wrong with people who DON’T know anything about witches or witchcraft or anything doing these things. Everything in your craft…. EVERYTHING… is intention. It’s kind of like whether you think you can or you think you can’t, you’re right. It doesn’t do any harm to wash away the negative along with the dirt you’re washing away. It doesn’t do any harm to think happy thoughts when you stir your coffee.
